SHIPS: Sharing Hope In Prevention Skills
Sharing Hope In Prevention Skills or SHIPS, is a forty lesson plan curriculum designed for Selected and Indicated high risk youth. The session and lesson plans include motivational enhancement and cognitive behavioral strategies. The program and curriculum target youth 12-20 years of age.
Appropriate participants for this intervention would fit the category of being in the Contemplative or Action stage of change. This means the program is appropriate for teens that have acknowledged that there may be a need for a change and have began the process of selecting a philosophy and "plan" to change their drinking or drug use.
Currently the curriculum version of SHIPS is under review for publishing. We will keep you updated on that status. If you wold like further information on this curriculum and its history, please contact Lane Stonecypher via email Sharing Hope In Prevention Skills
